The Priority Services Register (PSR) in the UK is a free support service for vulnerable individuals who may need extra assistance from their energy and water suppliers. This includes people who are elderly, have disabilities, are chronically ill, or depend on medical equipment that requires electricity. Households with young children or those facing temporary challenges may also qualify for support.
Being on the PSR means you can get priority in case of power cuts, advanced notice of planned outages, accessible communication options, and assistance in managing energy bills. If there is a water supply issue, those on the PSR can receive extra bottled water. Eligibility is wide-ranging, and registration is easy and free.
Each energy supplier and network operator offer this service, and to join, you can register directly with your supplier.
